August- Medusa’s Makeup Beauty Box

Hey guys! I can’t believe it’s already August, time has flown by me. But there’s always time for monthly subscriptions. Those definitely help mark the beginning of the month and give me something to look forward to. So this months’ Medusa’s Makeup beauty box gives us some more new new of recently launched products. This is probably my favorite part of getting their subscription, you get to try some of the new stuff they are constantly launching. I am so happy that are expanding and coming out more products. I’ve been following them for awhile and this the most they have expanded and rebranded products in a long time.  So let’s get down to this months’ goodies!

Born to be down:IMG-6918[56]1. Metal AF Lipgloss- Cherry Pie- $11:IMG-6920[58]IMG-6921[59]IMG-6924[60]IMG-6908[51]IMG-6912[53]IMG-6915[55]Metal AF lipgloss is one of the new launches from Medusa’s Makeup. But this is way different from a regular lipgloss, it’s a stay on metallic gloss. I have no clue what that means but after swatching it I realized it was a liquid lipstick. In the swatches above, I have two swatches. The first one is one layer and the second is two layers. I guess that’s why they called it a gloss because it kind of goes on that way. It does dry down pretty fast but gives you room to play. You definitely need a second layer to show the true color and get opacity. Me and my friend are both wearing Cherry Pie. I have little to no pigmentation, and her lips are more pigmented. I really love this so much better than their Lip Paints. This is definitely a hit for me.

2. False Lashes in Heavy- $9:These are their falsies called Heavy. At first they only had one set, which they had sent in a previous box. But I recently checked the site and they have 3 different kinds now. Those first ones had a really thin band and I learned pretty quickly I can’t do thin band falsies. My lashes are very curly and  thick, so thin lashes will get lost. Also, my real lashes almost fight the fake ones, always pushing them away from the lash line. These seem to have a thicker band so hopefully these will work for me. They come with their own lash glue and I love the heart packaging.

3. Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Whatever- $9: I really love their totally baked eyeshadows. I have only used their pressed shadows before, but the baked series are totally different. I love the theme of like 80s/90s slang for the names. The baked shadows are foiled shades and in this formula they are so pigmented. Whatever is a great silver shade. Like I have no clue how to wear this. I need a whole outfit to be planned around this shade.

4. Eye Dust in Ultra Violence- $8:This shade…… First of the name alone. If you are big Lana del Rey fan as I am, then you know why. Ultra Violence was one of her albums and song, like omg. And then this shade name plus the color???? Y’all know I am beyond the purple queen, sometimes too much purple is not enough. Ultra Violence is this gorgeous frosty iridescent purple that would be great for that inner corner highlight or layer over shadows. Give this pigment a few sprits and this will be your new favorite holo highlight.

This months’ total: $37

I really loved this months a lot. I think it was beyond worth it with the new liquid lipstick in an amazing shade. I can’t wait to try these lashes and hoping the band is better to play with. I really loved both eyeshadow shades and they are so me. I really love this brand and I think their subscription boxes are so slept on! They are also vegan and cruelty free. I think this is amazing for $16 a month and it’s and indie brand.

Thank you guys so much for reading and free to contact me with any questions you have. Stay purple!

City Color Timeless Beauty Palette

City Color is one of my favorite drugstore brands. There are certain products I love from them and always get. Their brow gels and blushes are definitely my favorite. They have recently came out with a lot of new things and really stepped up their game. I hope to try them in the future but right now I’m trying to finish what I have.

But this palette is the one thing I had my eye on for awhile. It came out awhile ago but just never got around to getting it. It’s $20, probably one of their more pricier items. I love the packaging, it’s gold and sleek. It looks super fancy. I love the huge mirror it has inside, I’m a sucker for mirrors. It comes with four blushes and three highlights. Let’s get down to swatches.

Beauty for the Ages: Make Me Blush:Blush #1: The first blush is a burnt orange shade. I love weird blushes like this, more orange and red shades. Very pigmented.

Blush #2: This blush is more of a coral shade but a bit deeper than most coral shades. This one is very pigmented as well.

Blush #3: This blush is a blue toned pink. I love these types of shades for my cheeks. This is very pigmented as well.

Blush #4: This shade is a very light pinky nude. It’s a little shimmery. This shade is extremely light and probably too light for me. Swatching this I had to layer it up a bunch of times. It kinda kept disappearing on me, maybe it would show up more on my face.

Shine On:lHighlight #1: This first highlight is deep gold, at least on my skin tone. It’s almost matches my skin, better for those no makeup makeup days.

Highlight #2: This is a brighter gold, almost copper. It’s a really pretty shade.

Highlight #3: This shade is more unique, it’s more of a deep mauve shade. It’s purple in certain lights but more muted and  wearable.

I really like this palette a lot. The blush range is very diverse as well as the highlights. I feel like they really considered all skin tones when creating this. They’re all very pigmented and velvety. They blend very well and had no trouble using this palette at all. It does a scent, like how beauty counters smell. Light and powdery.I used blush #1 and highlight #2. I used it to highlight my whole face and I feel it went perfectly with this look especially the blush. I used the Yes, Please! palette on my eyes.

My only critique of this palette is that it doesn’t have any names! I love when people put names for shades. I already love their blushes, I have almost all of them. They are some of my favorite to use and so pigmented. I wish they would come out with more highlights because I really like this formula. I believe that they are coming out with some but they might be cream.

I really thope his helps you guys out. Thank you so much for reading. Let me know if you have tried any of the new City Color products. Stay purple.

ILUVSARAHII X Colour Pop and Other Shades

Hey loves, really wish I was blogging more but this weather has me all over. With half of the time it being well above the 90s and the rest of the time in the 70s, me and my room were deciding whether or not to go up in flames or hibernate. Either way I am trying my best to stay updated on whatever stuff I have lying around waiting for me to try. And some new new stuff that I’ve been getting and loving.

I bought some of the Colour Pop’s pressed shadows when they were on sale for $4. I believe that sale is still going on. I got the $AUCY palette from the ILUVSARAHII X Colour Pop collab. I only got this one because I like the shades, especially the purples of course. I didn’t get any else from the collection because it didn’t speak to me and I most likely have shades like this already. Then I got a few random shades that they launched for the summer. I like to get them so my order can qualify for free shipping and I like getting a free palette with the shadows.

So let’s get started with this random assortment of shadows.

$AUCY:Heavy Glam:Heavy Glam is a vibrant duochrome orange with a pink flip. This shade is really beautiful. I can’t get a good enough picture of it. The duochrome is amazing, this is perfect for those peach looks.

Chic Happens:Chic Happens is a matte cool mauve. I really love this shade. Kind of like a pressed form of Tang, but a bit darker. I live for cool toned purples in for my crease shades.

Lit:Lit is a vibrant metallic purple. I am most excited for this shade, it’s purple, it’s metallic, it’s amazing. This shade is probably the only reason why I bought this palette.

Razy:Razy is a matte blackened plum. This shade is hella pigmented and dark. I love it for if I ever wanted to do a purple smokey eye. It did feel a little grainy when I swatched but doesn’t effect the pigmentation.

Summer  shades:Sea Stars:Sea Stars is a matte medium brown. I really like shades like this for my crease.

Tiki: Tiki is a matte warm yellow with flecks of gold. It’s a really pretty shade, but it’s a bit transparent when you swatch it. This was after a few swipes so it’s buildable.

Muscle Beach:  Muscle Beach is a matte vibrant teal. Omg this matte shade is amazing. This is one swipe, so pigmented.

Tiny Tangerines: Tiny Tangerines is a satin teal. This shade was buttery and very pigmented.

Two Piece: Two Piece is a rich navy in a satin finish. This shade was a little stiff but very pigmented. It stained a little. I love every shade I got. None of them were completely horrible. Pretty much all of them were pigmented and easy to work with. I kind of prefer the first version of the palettes. I know Color Pop said the palettes would constantly change, but I love the first one. It had a little window so you kinda see inside the palette. Especially, as you can see, I like to rip out the styrofoam so I can make room for more shades. So instead of holding 4 shades, it holds 10. So you have a mini shadow palette holder for free. I did get the small empty palette from Colour Pop and it holds all my other shadows. And also because I use these palettes for other loose shadows I have.

What I so like about this palette is the Colour logo all over. I love the embossing on the front and inside.

Anyway hope you guys liked this mini swatching. Colour Pop has so much stuff its releasing it’s hard to keep up. So let’s all try and enjoy the Colour Pop goodies we so have before we go crazy to trying to get all the new stuff.

Thanks so much for reading and stay purple.

Colour Pop Yes, Please! Palette

Colour Pop has been beyond thinking of ways to make sure they get all the money from our paychecks. It has been non stop rain of terror on my heart strings. I almost threw my phone out the window. Beyond the new pressed palettes, there’s been setting sprays, liquid highlighters, and the Fem Rosa collection. It has just been so overwhelming and I hate feeling like I’m ordering every week. But I love Colour Pop, it’s hard not be addicted.

But the most anticipated and hardest to get your hands on is the Yes, Please! pressed palette. This is Colour Pop’s first pressed eyeshadow palette. I just had to get my hands on it. I just wanted it and didn’t want to wait. First round was a bust, but second round I made sure to prepare. I gave my friend all my information, and she was able to get it. I later asked her how fast it sold out, and she told me 4 minutes! That’s freaking crazy! I’m so glad we prepped because I did not want to wait again and do this whole sell out in 2 mins business. Too stressful.

So let’s get down to the swatches.

White lines and black beaches: Swatches going left to right, the first row:Full Zip: matte warm ivory- this shade was extremely pigmented for being such a light shade

Big Cocktails: matte orange- pigmented, one swipe

Champs: matte pale peachy nude- I had to go over this shade and idk it didn’t work on my skin tone, just disappeared on me

Bling: metallic rust- so pigmented, beautifulLouie: metallic duochrome red with a gold flip- so pigmented and omg that duochrome

Butter Cake: metallic pale yellow gold- this is a really beautiful highlight shade

Spoiled: matte brick red- had to go over this shade but pigmented

GNO: matte burnt orange- dittoMischief: matte warm yellow- this was one of the least pigmented shades for me. So excited for  this yellow so was kinda disappointed. I went over it a bunch of times so I can’t even say it’s buildable. But definitely need a white base and this will show up better

Note to Self: matte warm caramel- I had to go over it but pigmented. I love shades like this because it’s almost my skin tone and makes a good all over shade or crease color

Chauffeur: metallic duochrome bright orange with a gold flip- now this isn’t a disappointing yellow, beautiful

French Kiss: matte deep red brown- the most pigmented matte shade

This palette is $16 which isn’t bad at all. Like I can’t tell you the last time that’s all I paid for a palette. You get 12 eyeshadows and they’re slightly smaller than their shadow singles, but that’s fine with me. What really drew me to the palette were the colors. I love color palettes but I tend to stick to more cool toned shades especially purples. So when the whole reds and warm palettes became a trend, I was happy because it helped me explore the other color spectrum. I will never get tired of these palettes because I have about maybe four warm palettes compared to all my other crazy colorful ones.

Anyway, I just loves how bright these shades were. All the metallic shades in the palette were buttery and super pigmented. No problems with them at all. Some of the matte shades were more tricky. I did have to go over them to help a little with pigmentation and make the swatch even throughout. So that’s not bad, just gotta redip your brush. Some mattes just weren’t working on my skin at all. The pigmentation just wasn’t there for me. Mischief was one of the weakest along with Champs. The most pigmented and  buttery of the mattes was  French Kiss and then Full Zip. I wish  Mischief was like these two but oh well. The reason why we don’t see a lot of palettes like these because these shades are hard to make with great pigmentation. So for $16 I am not mad at all. The metallic shades more than make up the rest. But the other matte shades are amazing and cannot wait to work with. I swatche all these with my  finger, no primer. I hope this was helpful to guys in any way. Feel free to ask me any questions. I know a restock is coming up soon. I do want to get my hands on some of their newer launches but I need a break. And now they’re coming out with brushes and concealers. I’m exhausted. Let me know if you plan on trying to snag this or any of the new new stuff. Thanks so much for reading and stay purple.

July- Medusa’s Makeup Beauty Box

Hey guys! I meant to put this up hella long ago but of course sick again. It has been crazy hot and I don’t well in the extreme heat. And my room is the hottest room in the house and there’s only so much a fan can do. It makes really hard for me to swatch as my room has the best lighting. Going outside just makes me want to die. So yeah the heat really really wasn’t helping me. But finally it’s about 30 degrees cooler and I feel like myself again.

As much as I’ve been slacking, Medusa’s Makeup has not been. I really loved this months shipper. It’s super summery and sooo cute! So I will jump right into what I loved and hated this month.

Don’t be a bummer:

1. Lip Paint in Cowgirl- $12:

I really have yet to receive a lip paint that I didn’t hate. Cowgirl is no exception. I don’t even know what shade or what level of nude this is. I’m not even sure who this would look good on but I know it ain’t me. This shade is practically white. It’s is pretty opaque but you do have to go over it a few times because of streaking.
2. Glitter in Mystique- $8:

Mystique is a really beautiful light blue glitter with flecks of green. It’s really beautiful in person. It’s like the ultimate summer mermaid shade.

3. Angle eyeliner brush- $8:The angle liner brush is synthetic. It is softer than the original one and hair more even.

4. Brow Wow Wow- $12: This is a new product from Medusa’s Makeup. I usually use brow pencils instead of powders. It only comes in one shade so far. The highlight is blinding!!! This picture is doing it no justice at all. The brow powder is buildable. Looks dark enough for me. I tend to use dark brown for my brows.

This months total: $45

Because this month we got a treat of also receiving their beach bag! I love it so much. I’ve been using it everytime I go out. Holds a lot of stuff, good for shopping.

I really loved everything I got this month except the Lip Paint. I love being able to try their new products and compare updated versions of previous ones

This monthly is only $15.95 and they ship extremely fast. They are vegan and cruelty free brand.

Thank you guys so much for reading. Feel free to ask me any questions. Stay purple.

I Like Your Face

Colour Pop dropped two pressed palettes that basically broke the internet and my heart. I hate their launches because it’s 10 am California time and that’s 1pm New York time. And I’m usually working so it’s hard for me to get way to place an order. The pressed eyeshadow palette went like so fast but I managed to get it the second round by having my friend make the order for me. I cannot wait to review it as it sold out within 4 minutes. That’s so crazy.

But onto the face palette, their first pressed highlighting palette. It’s called Gimme More! I don’t know why the front of the palette says I Like Your Face and the real name of the palette is Gimme More! A little confusing but whatever. I just had to have this palette because it’s Colour Pop, it’s pressed, it looks gorgeous. I need it, have to have it. And I knew the highlights would be bomb af because of the face palettes the came out with. The shades look a bit crazy but girl trust and believe me!!! No regrets.

Gimme More!- $18:

Extra:  Extra is a pale gold.

Upgrade:Upgrade is a baby pink.

Bottemless:Bottemless is a tangerine with a gold flip.

Full Service: Full Service is a pink with a gold flip.

Bigger and Better:Bigger and Better is a champagne.

Total Package:Total Package is metallic rose gold. For this look I used Extra for the inner corner highlight, Upgrade on the  brow bone, and Full Service on the rest of my face.

This look I used Upgrade on the brow bone and Bottomless all over the rest of my face.

This palette is extremely extremely gorgeous. You will not regret it at all. I fell more in love in this palette than I thought I would. It’s definitely brown girl friendly because I swatched on my friend who has a deeper skin tone and she really loved it.

And as highlights go, you can use this on your face, body, and make amazing eyeshadows. They are 0.13 oz which is 0.02 oz less than the 6 pans in ABH Glow Kits. That’s not bad at all for $18 and to get some unique shades. This is like a summer face palette to me.

They are restocking very soon and I hope you get your hands on it!

Thanks so much for reading. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Stay purple.

Colour Pop’s 3rd Birthday

Colour Pop celebrated its 3rd birthday and as usual, they came out with their limited edition eyeshadow and packaging. But this year they came out with a whole collection. This years collection came with 4 pressed shadows, 3 ultra glossy lips, a super shock highligher, and a sticker sheet. It didn’t come with the eyeshadow, but you did get it free with a $35 purchase, and the packet was $35.

I was so happy to get my hands on this collection, the packaging was so cute. And I love getting their birthday shadows. The birthday collection is one of my fav things they release. Let’s get into some swatches!

Make A Wish:

Pressed Shadows: The Big 3, Cakewalk, Rager, Party Favors I really really love the pressed shadows. They are like these light duochrome shades that look amazing. They are so pigmented and look like fairy lights on your face.

Birthday Cake & Blow Me Out:

I really loved these two guys and I was soooo excited they came out with a highlighter too. It’s a really nice golden shade, very glowy.

Comparisons of Birthday Girl, Birthday Boy, Birthday Cake:Birthday Girl is more of a gold shade, Birthday Boy is a bronze with purple sparkles, and Birthday Cake is pink with silver shimmer.

Ultra Glossy Lips: RSVP, Bash, Wishes RSVP:I really like this shade the best. The least goopy and overwhelming. And I love the duochrome shade.

Bash:My least favorite of the shades. I hate pink and even tho this isn’t neon, I still don’t really like it.

Wishes:I really like this shade, it’s purple, it’s duochrome. But it’s very goopy. Only thing I don’t like.

Sticker Sheet:

Did you guys get this collection? I really loved it and love that they came out with a whole collection. The only thing I didn’t like is that you couldn’t get the certain pieces of the collection. Like I most likely wouldn’t have gotten the glosses. I rarely use lip gloss so as shiny as they are, I don’t want to get more of what I won’t use. I really loved the light blue packaging, so cute. I love the stickers because if you know me, I am sticker obsessed.

Lemme know how you felt and if you got the package, or just the eyeshadow. Thanks so much for reading, stay purple.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette

The Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette has been raved about ever since it launched. I’ve seen so many people talk about how much they love it and they only use this. I always wanted to get it but the price tag always got to me. It’s $49 which isn’t bad but still a bit scary. The contour palettes I had before have all been drugstore so this is the most high end palette I had bought. I got this when Sephora had the $10 off $50 sale back in the fall. It was my birthday present to myself. Also, I waited to buy it because I was wanted to get the one with refillable pans. I wasn’t sure what I would use and like since there’s only one shade option.

Let’s get into swatches and my review of the palette.

The top row: the light: Lucid, Lyric, and LevitationLucid: pinkish nude- I don’t really use this shade because I’m extremely yellow toned. So the pink I’m not sure I’ll be using or how.

Lyric: yellow beige- This shade I use a lot because of my yellow self. I sometimes use it to set my eyes. And then I use it after clean up my contour, especially if I over do it.

Levitation: soft peach- This is another I don’t really use. I’m not sure what to use it for. Maybe for correcting? I do use orange concealer for my beard and maybe I can use it to set it.

The bottom row: the shade: Sombre, Shadowplay, Subconscious

Sombre: true taupe- This shade I use the least out of the contour shades because it matches my skin the most so you don’t see it much. I use this to mix in our lighten up my contour.

Shadowplay: soft brown- This shade I use the most. You can layer these shades and build up the color. So it can get a bit too dark. I usually mix it with a little of Subconscious.

Subconscious: deep brown- This also use the least. I tried to use it on its on but it is actually hella dark. So I definitely mix this with the other shades to make them deeper.

My overall take of this palette is that I liked it, way more than I expected to. I’m not sure why this doesn’t come in more shade options, I feel like one more for fair skin and another for darker skin tones. Because I feel like this palette works pretty good on me I’m sure it fits a range of people. But definitely need at least two more.

I hate the amount of kick up it has. It’s extreme. So you really have to be careful, really use a light hand, and use a light brush. Something that won’t make it worse. Because all that powder means it’s all over the place and your brush, making you have a more extreme contour than you planned.

The smaller pans are $14 and the bigger ones are $16. Someone in reviews said to just buy another palette because if you wanted to buy the pans again, it’s $90. But, you won’t want them all at once. If you’re like me, you’re not going to use all the pans so buying a new one makes no sense. I most likely will only buy two pans so it won’t cost that much. And it’ll be a waste to buy a new palette when I’ll only use 2 out of the 6 shades.

Here’s me using the palette:

So overall I really ended up loving this palette. She’s also coming out with a cream version of the palette. I’m not sure if get that because I’m not good with cream contours. The closest I’ve been to cream contouring is contour sticks. So I’m not sure if I’ll be buying this. I have about 5 contour palettes so I’m good on the contour palettes for right now.

Lemme know what you guys think of this palette is you have it. And what you use some of the shades for. Will guys be getting the cream version? As always, thank you so much for reading, stay purple.

June- Medusa’s Makeup Beauty Box

Hey guys I know I am super late with posting this months beauty box. Between the heat wave and it getting me super sick, I literally had nothing in me to do swatches or reviews. And I must admit to being a bit depressed lately, and sometimes it effects my blogging among other things. So I finally sat down and did these swatches and I’ll go through them really quick.

Hey June!:

1. Lipstick in Yolo- $12:

This lipstick is a semi matte lipstick in the shade Yolo. It’s a bright pink and it’s pretty full coverage. I kind of had to go over it a few times to get it completely opaque. This is not one of my favorite shades. I literally hate pink lipstick and it is so not for me.
2. Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Tubular- $9:

Tubular is a teal green. I’m really loving these new baked shadows. They are very pigmented and they are not dry like other baked shadows. I’m pretty sure if you were to wet these they’d be even more amazing.

3. Oh So Natural Lip & Cheek Stain in Raven- $8:

This is a lip and cheek stain in the shade Raven. You can use this all over your face. I have used them one the cheek and eyes and lips. I like them best on the lips. Very moisterizing in the winter.  This is a comparison of two different lip stains. The second shade is Moody, which is darker and more pigmented than Raven. Raven is a sheer cherry shade whereas Moody is a bit more of an opaque cherry shade.

4. Shimmer Eye Dust in Jail Bait- $8:

Jail Bait is shimmery baby pink. It’s a loose shadow with a shifter and is 1.5 grams.

Total: $37

It’s not an overall exciting box but I like everything but the lipstick. The shade is just not for me. I was happy to get another of the lip stains.

Let me know if you liked this months box and if you have subscribed to their subscription. Thanks so much for reading and stay purple.

Lime Crime Hi-Lite: Opals

When Lime Crime came out with highlighters, it was just mean. Mean because Lime Crime is so extra and you knew these would be hella extra too. Mean because I knew it’d make my wallet hurt. And mean because I know I’d have no choice but to get them. I really love unconventional highlighters because I’m weird and also that’s what I would create if I had the chance.

And these highlighters are really different because they are iridescent. The holographic nature in them is beyond. I wish I had a camera to be able to capture how amazing these are. I wore this one night and literally went crazy putting it all over my face. And of course on those beat face nights is when you can never get a good picture.

Pink:Gold: Peach:

These are formulated to be translucent in the base and then come to life once it’s on your skin. They are calling these milky shades that adapt to every type of skin tone once applied. These are vegan and cruelty free. The packaging is so beautiful, a hard material with a magnetic closure. The package itself is so holographic and beautiful, I’m not sure how I’ll ever be able to throw it away. Each highlight is 0.25 oz, which is 0.01 smaller than the pans in the ABH quad Glow Kits. So you’re definitely getting a good amount of product.

These are very soft and super pigmented. As you can see, you can blend out the product and build it up. The first set of swatches I wanted to sheer them out to show how they would look blended on the face. The second half were finger swatches to show exactly the type of pigmentation you’re dealing with.

And who is about the mermaid collection?? I know I definitely am. I swear Lime Crime wants all our money and they ain’t sorry about it. Let me know if you bought any their Hi-Lites and if you got the mermaid collection. Thank you so much for reading and stay purple.
